[edit] Repairing MLS Lost User Names
This section has been moved to the MLS page. Hardly anyone would see it on the Talk page.
[edit] Too many topics
This page is getting out of hand, with too many topics. We need a better organization with much fewer headings. -- Alan Brown 22:28, 2 Feb 2007 (GMT)
I agree with Alan. What I picture in my mind is three level hierarchy, with the Main Page as a portal (level 1) with only simple one or two word topics/titles for the main areas of clerking. These then link to summary information (more words but still bite-sized and snappy (level 2) with these pages linking to specific, detailed pages (level 3). In some areas, the exception rather than the rule, an additional level (level 4) would be used for the how-to / very detailed but practical information --Steve 19:37, 3 Feb 2007 (GMT)
[edit] Potential Logos
Dave Richman put together the following potential logos for LDSClerks:
Here is a concept that I have put together. It combines elements that show how the role of clerks has changed over time, from a quill and ink to a mouse pointer. Russell Hltn via the mailing list has already suggested it could use a bit of colour. Any other suggestions on how this idea could be improved? --Steve 01:39, 18 March 2008 (CDT)
I've added colour to the proposed logo, using a colour palette taken from MLS. --Steve 17:55, 18 March 2008 (CDT)
[edit] New Look/Organization
Thanks, Steve, for your efforts to improve the look of the Main Page. I have been less than happy with the way the main page had evolved, and you've given it a great facelift, and significantly improved the usability and navigation. Good work! -- Alan Brown 14:24, 20 May 2008 (CDT)
- Thanks Alan, I appreciate you comments. The opening text that I moved from the main page can now be found here and here. The majority of links as listed before have been moved into the tables. I'm not sure if Custom Report Options is needed on the main page and there may be some important articles that should be added. I'd welcome anybody comments about what should and shouldn't be included there. --Steve 14:41, 20 May 2008 (CDT)
- I have removed the Custom Report Options from the main page, as I think that it should follow on from an article about reports. I have also converted the six main boxes to use the {{Box}} template which I believe will make it easier to edit and maintain. --Steve 08:12, 22 May 2008 (CDT)
